I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family several times before but their latest Dry Lake Bed family portraits were my favorite ones so far. I loved the simple, stylish outfits they wore (neutrals and jeans just never go out of style) and they matched perfectly with the casual, desert look. The Dry Lake Bed can be a tricky location because it’s so affected by rain, dust and wind, but we lucked out with perfect weather and few glorious clouds in the sky this day. Sessions at this location also have to be fairly quick since there’s a perfect 30 minute window of light right before the sun sets. At the end of this photoshoot, the sun was dipping behind the desert mountains and we got the most dreamy, glowing light. Classic family portraits with a modern desert twist for a beautiful family of five!
