Sabrina + Tyler are unlike any other couple I’ve photographed… 15 minutes into their engagement session, I saw how great their were on camera and with each other and thought to myself: these are gonna be freakin’ amazing. And sure enough, they have one of my fave engagement portrait sessions to date. As much as I loved that shoot, I had no idea what I was in for with their wedding! Oh man… the bride’s flowing golden locks, gorgeous ruffles on her Truly Zac Posen dress, soft pink details, dapper black tie tuxes, a twisted wooden floral arch, shiny white dance floor, and glowing chandeliers overhead. Plus… Sabrina and Tyler are just so beautiful, not only photogenic, but their personalities and love for each other shine so bright.

They met 10 years ago on Lake Mead, and Tyler caught Sabrina’s eye with his complete daredevil wakeboarding skills. They kept in touch when Sabrina went back home to England, and years later still found themselves coming back to one another and their connection, even though Sabrina lived so far away. In 2013, they started their whirlwind romance including six months of long distance, and in 2014, Tyler popped the question. Today they have two absolutely perfect daughters and keep their happy home in the small, historic town of Boulder City, just outside of Las Vegas. When I asked Sabrina how she would describe her love, she said, “The phrase that comes to mind is ‘It was always you.’ He is the love of my life. I’ve never loved anyone else.”

They were married on an actually-not-so-crazy-hot summer day at Wilbur Square – a park located in downtown historic Boulder City. Naakiti Floral set up a beautiful scene for their ceremony amid the trees, with a wooden arch with blush and cream florals, a shiny white center aisle, and a white drape to cover up the bride before she walked down the aisle. They said their “I dos” and we stuck around the park to grab some family and bridal party shots. Then we traveled over to Boulder Creek Golf Club, where guests enjoyed cocktails on the patio and we walked around the golf course for some scenic, setting-sun portraits. The course has amazing views of trees and greenery, with tall grass, lakes, and river rocks. I tried something a little out of the ordinary for me and put Sabrina in the direct sunlight for a few portraits – and what do you know… she looked beautiful in that light as well! Tyler didn’t look too bad himself, in his classic Vera Wang Black tux.

Inside the reception tent, the bride’s brother strummed a guitar and sang an Ed Sheeran song as guests found their seats. The tables were set with pink roses, candelabras, cream linens, chocolates, and golden votives. Overhead chandeliers and rows of bistro lights decorated the tent. A stunning cake was set in the corner in front of a large golden mirror reflecting the room, with gold leafing on the icing and blush fondant roses. Tyler and Sabrina entered the tent to wild applause and elegantly began their first dance. After that sweet moment, the real party began. Tables were called onto the dance floor to shake their money-makers and receive approval from the newlyweds before moving onto the buffet. That pretty much set the tone for an incredible party and the rest of the night is one for the books. Let me tell you – I’ve seen a lot of weddings, but I’ve never seen dance moves like this. Sabrina’s friends and family from England really know how to break it down on the dance floor and her stepfather is lovingly nicknamed ‘Pete the Feet’. I’ll say no more… just see below and enjoy…
