Chanel + Doug are a one-of-a-kind, dream couple to photograph. Her smile is simply so beautiful and joyful, and he’s got amazing style. They met working at a luxury resort property in Las Vegas, and I first met them over the phone as they were living abroad in Australia. Doug is originally from Las Vegas (and I was happy to see some of our mutual friends were attending their wedding), and Chanel is from the Chicago area. They were both raised to value their family and friendships, and you could really feel the closeness of the guests at their intimate Hilton Lake Las Vegas wedding.
They got ready in separate rooms on the sprawling Tuscan-inspired property and presented their bridesmaids and groomsmen with personalized gifts. The couple wanted to keep their ceremony traditional and decided not to see each other until the large wooden chapel doors opened and she walked down the aisle towards him. The beautiful bright light behind the chapel doors and chandeliers adorned with greenery really make for a dramatic entrance! They said their vows, were pronounced husband and wife, and walked back down the aisle smiling from ear to ear.
As guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the gardens (complete with custom rolled cigars), the couple spent a few minutes alone taking some sunset newlywed portraits. Lake Las Vegas simply has so much to offer for photo backdrops. Their reception was held in a ballroom lit by candlelight with white and blush florals, lush greenery and a custom white dance floor – pure romance. They even had a specialty cocktail named after their beloved dog at home in Australia. One of my favorite moments of the night was the song written and preformed by the groom’s four nieces. The last hour of the dance included customized light up foam wands to really bring the party out animal out of the guests. It was an amazing day and I’m so happy to hear they just announced their return to the United States later this year. Chanel + Doug: my most sincere wishes for the happiest life ever!
