Chanel + Doug’s dry lake bed engagement session was glowing, romantic, and… windy! You might not be able to see it in these images, but these two braved some torrential winds to make this magic happen. I’m so glad these decided to just have fun and go with it, because this turned out to be one of my favorite engagement sessions on the lake bed! We had some puddles from recent desert rains and the perfect amount of haze in the sky to make for a gorgeous sunset. I love shooting at this location about a half hour before sunset to get that perfect, low light, and half an hour afterwards as the sky starts to change. The lake bed can be windy because there’s no foliage or buildings to block the breeze, but it’s so worth it.
The couple brought their favorite champagne for a toast and a kiss right as the sun dipped behind the mountain. My husband and I toasted champagne at our own engagement session, and I highly recommend it if you’re a wino like me! It’s such a fun way to celebrate your engagement session and share a romantic moment as fiancés. Cheers, Chanel + Doug!
